Sleeping Dogs DLC Review - Page 4

 Zodiac Tournament DLC

Zodiac Tournament DLC for Sleeping Dogs is the Bruce Lee yellow jump suit DLC pack.  It is accessed from the dock area in one of the islands.  You take a boat out to the mysterious tournament fighting island and everyone fights there.  The cutscenes are done real nice with old grainy film styling to get you in the mood.  I like the atmosphere, and the island looks nice too.

The missions in Zodiac tournament are surprisingly interesting and varied.  Everyone on the forums said it is just fighting, but it’s the fun fighting.  The fights in Zodiac tournament DLC are not like those in Nightmare at Northpoint because of this variety.  There’s always some cool strange character to fight that has a unique fighting style.  I enjoyed all the missions.

The downsides to Zodiac tournament DLC for Sleeping Dogs are that the second to final mission is HARD.  I mean it is the hardest mission in the entire Sleeping dogs game so far.  I had to try around 20 times before finally getting lucky.  You have around 30 seconds in this mission to fight 4 guys before the roof/ceiling with spikes falls or is lowered on to you.  In this time you have to throw 3 guys into the gears to stop the ceiling falling too.  My advice is to aim for the fat guy you can’t grab.  Keep kicking him until he falls and throwing guys into the gears at the same time.  Ignore everyone else, just attack the main fat guy.

Overall I liked the atmosphere and setting for this Sleeping Dogs DLC pack too.  I recommend it, and it has actually interesting fighting unlike the Nightmare at north point DLC.

Final words on Sleeping Dogs DLC

All four DLC covered in this review are regularly on sale for 75% off.  Get them when they hit their sale price and just have them in your Steam account.  I liked the Year of the Snake DLC pack best, then Nightmare at north point for atmosphere and Zodiac tournament for setting and story.  Wheels of fury is good, but only if very cheap.  Just buy them!  If you liked the main game they’re definitely worth it to enhance your finished Sleeping Dogs game.
